What is happening?
Applications are now invited from members wishing to join EFRR Council. Members of the EFRR Council are elected by participants of the EFRR Congress, which is held every two years. EFRR Council is composed of a President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Members. EFRR Council members play an active role in EFRR activities, notably in organising the biennial conference, and in forming the strategy that provides overall direction to the Forum. Applications are now invited from EFRR members wishing to make a positive contribution to Council, for the benefit of its membership for the following role: Members.
Who is eligible to apply to EFRR Council?
EFRR Members may propose either themselves or other Candidates to be considered for EFRR Council. This proposal must be accompanied by a letter and short CV from the Candidate indicating that he/she is willing to stand. A Candidate applying for EFRR Council must:
- be working in the area of rehabilitation
- be a paid-up member of the EFFR
- have sent a letter (either directly to the EFRR Secretary

How do I submit an application for EFRR Council?
1. Candidates should prepare a letter, which should state their:
- Title/ salutation, First name, Surname
- Primary work address
- Current email address
- Web page (if available – this is not a compulsory requirement)
- Motivation for applying for EFRR Council (max. 250 words; bullet points acceptable). We would appreciate if Candidates could relate their statement to the aims of the EFRR, which can be found here: https://efrr.org/
- Anticipated contribution to the EFRR (max. 250 words; bullet points acceptable). We would appreciate if Candidates could relate their statement to the EFRR Strategy, which can be found here: https://efrr.org/
- Candidates should also attach a short CV in English (maximum one page A4) to their letter, with a picture and indicating their profession, qualifications, publications and any invited talks, main areas of work, experience with national and /or international professional organisations (in particular, organising workshops, conferences/ meetings), and any other information deemed relevant.
2. The Candidate (or their Proposer) should email the Candidate’s letter and CV to the EFRR Secretary:
What happens following the submission of an application to EFRR Council?
1. The EFRR secretary will acknowledge the submission by email, to the Candidate (and their Proposer –in cases where this applies).
2. EFRR Council will verify Candidates’ eligibility, and notify Candidates of the outcome.
3. The EFRR secretary will circulate details of eligible Candidates to EFRR Members at least 2 weeks prior to the EFRR Congress (Nov. 2-5, 2023, Antalya, Türkiye, see: https://efrr2023.org/).
4. Voting for candidates will take place in the General Assembly, held as part of the EFRR Congress. Only those who participate at the General Assembly can vote.
5. Candidates must be present (in person or online) at the EFRR General Assembly and will be expected to present themselves and their application, prior to voting.
